Who I am
This site is run by Search Valley Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 13542201, based in Reading, Berkshire. I am the data controller for anything collected here, and you can reach me at [email protected].
Cookies
Until you agree to analytics, this site sets no cookies at all. If you do agree, Google Analytics sets two:
| Cookie | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Tells one visitor apart from another so visits can be counted | 2 years |
_ga_3GQF04V1YT | Keeps track of a single visit to this site | 2 years |
Your answer to the cookie question is kept in your browser's local storage, under sv-consent.
That is not a cookie and it is never sent anywhere. If you say no, nothing is stored beyond that answer.
You can change your mind whenever you like using the COOKIES link at the bottom of any page. Clearing your browser data for this site also clears it.
Analytics
If you agree, I use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, roughly where they came from, and which pages get read. I look at it in totals. I am not trying to work out who you are, and Google Analytics does not tell me. Google processes that data on my behalf, and their own terms cover what they do with it.
The contact form
Whatever you type into the brief form is emailed to me and nothing else. It is not stored in a database, added to a mailing list, or passed to anyone. The email is delivered by Resend and lands in my inbox, which is Google Workspace. I keep it as long as it is useful to keep, and if you would rather I did not, say so and I will delete it.
The form is protected from spam by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a real browser is sending it. It sets no cookies.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare keeps standard server logs for security and for delivering the site, which is normal for any website, and I do not use those logs to identify anyone.
